Fixer
Do you love to tinker, mend, and bring things back to life? Our vibrant Repair Cafe is looking for enthusiastic volunteers with skills in areas like electronics, mechanics, woodworking, and bicycle repair (all skills welcome!). Share your expertise and help reduce waste in our community.
Time Commitment: Join us on the last Saturday of each month (excluding December) for 3.5 hours of volunteering, from 10:45 AM to 2:15 PM, at the Central Slough (Queensmere Shopping Centre) Repair Cafe.
We’re Looking For You If You Are:
- Aged 16 or over
- Passionate about repair and sustainability (expertise not essential!)
- Eager to learn new skills and share your knowledge
- Happy to explain repairs and teach others

Sewing Specialist
Are you skilled with a needle and thread and enjoy sharing your knowledge? Volunteer at our sewing helpdesk and help others learn to mend, modify, and create their own textile projects.
Time Commitment: Join us on the last Saturday of each month (excluding December) for 3.5 hours of volunteering, from 10:45 AM to 2:15 PM, at the Central Slough (Queensmere Shopping Centre) Repair Cafe. Plus, there will be opportunities to volunteer at one-off, specific Sewing Help Desk events (dates to be announced!).
We’re Looking For You If You Are:
- Aged 16 or over
- Skilled on a sewing machine or with needle and thread (all levels of expertise welcome!)
- Enjoy explaining techniques and helping others learn
- Excited about the world of textiles and creative projects
Litter picker
Do you enjoy spending time outdoors and want to make a positive impact on the environment? Join our litter picking events, get some exercise, and help keep our community clean and beautiful.

Calling All Anti-Litter Enthusiasts (of all ages!): We welcome participants of all ages to our litter pick. However, please be aware that we are unable to provide individual supervision for any attendees, adult or child. Please ensure anyone needing assistance is accompanied by a responsible adult.
Community Educator
Do you want to inspire positive change? In this role you will deliver informative and interactive presentations to community groups, schools, and other organisations.
Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours each month, with flexibility to fit around upcoming events and your availability!
We’re Looking For You If You Are:
- An enthusiastic individual aged 18 or over
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the community
- Enjoy sharing information and connecting with others
- Comfortable and confident in presenting to different groups
- Willing to undergo a basic DBS check (which we can easily help you with!)
Event host
Do you enjoy meeting new people and creating a welcoming atmosphere? We’re looking for enthusiastic event hosts to greet attendees, provide information, and ensure everyone has a fantastic experience.
Time Commitment: Around 3 hours each month, with opportunities that are flexible depending on our upcoming events.
We’re Looking For You If You Are:
- Aged 18 or over
- Love meeting new people and making connections
- Comfortable using a laptop for check-in and basic admin tasks
- Organised and detail-oriented
